Our Missions

http://www.videoparty.info
For five years, Video Party has been showcasing original independent short films and videos in a party setting. Our goal is to provide an exciting and engaging environment for audience members to view films, interact with media makers and get a little wild.

http://cutv.concordia.ca
CUTV (Canada’s oldest student-run television station) is dedicated to providing visual media resources to students and community members alike in the hopes of provoking new ideas and perspectives through independent video projects. They provide access to the tools and knowledge needed to make media that matters.

Citizen Shift is a relatively new web-initiative from the NFB that encourages social engagement through user-generated content and grassroots media production. Check it out!

One Night

For one night in early November, these three organizations will join forces to showcase their wares. There will be short film screenings, DJ’s + live music and copious brewed beverages. The venue is also a pretty happening spot. Have you been in that really big loft at the bottom of Guy / Williams occasionally referred to as “The Pound”? Well, if not, all the more reason to come and check it out.

Oh, and the best part is, since our co-hosts have a mandate to generate public awareness and a budget, this event is going to be PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN / FREE!

Event Details:
Saturday, November 3rd: Eight ‘till late
@ The Pound
377 Richmond (West of Guy, South of Notre Dame)
10pm - Video Party Screening: Highlights reel.
1am - Video Party Screening: The Best of The Future

I’ll be posting more details here as the event draws near.
